Kate Middleton well and truly stole the show at the 2019 BAFTAs earlier this month as the Duchess of Cambridge stunned in an Alexander McQueen gown fit for a princess. And now, you can recreate her look, thanks to ASOS.
The popular online retailer has released a dupe version of the Kate’s floaty, white one-shouldered dress for the very humble price of £65.
However, the price tag isn’t the only difference between the original and the ASOS version. While Kate opted for a white gown, the retailer is selling the dress in three colours: navy, mink and a very spring-appropriate cornflower blue.
The ASOS style also doesn’t have the floral shoulder detailing that the Duchess’ Alexander McQueen dress did, but it is stunning nonetheless. And for anyone planning a wedding this summer, it would work as a great bridesmaid dress. In fact, its simple design makes it very easy to accessorise.
The dress is currently available in Tall, Petite and Curve. However, you might want to move quickly, as ASOS tend to sell out fast when it comes to popular products. And considering the dress is inspired by the Duchess’ BAFTA gown, it’s bound to be in very high demand.
On BAFTA night, Kate styled her dress with a sweet and subtle tribute to her late mother-in-law as she wore a beautiful pair of drop diamond earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana. She also wore the Queen’s diamond quatrefoil bracelet, while her hair was styled in an elegant updo. On her feet, she opted for a pair of litter court shoes from Jimmy Choo and a white clutch bag to match.
The look was quickly dubbed one of her best red carpet moments ever, with fans flocking to social media to repost pictures of her from the BAFTAs while gushing over her dress.
