There’s plenty to celebrate at the end of the month – not only have we got through another dark and gloomy month and a few steps closer to spring, 2020 is a leap year, meaning we get a bonus day as well.
As the tradition goes, the 29th of February is a day when women can propose to their loved ones and ask for their hand in marriage. While we now live in slightly more modern times and women proposing to men isn’t such a taboo, we still love any excuse to pop the cork on a bottle of bubbles. And if you do have reason to celebrate this leap year, bargain hunters can rejoice as Asda is slashing the price of its 75cl Mumm Champagne Brut from £33 to £22 – that’s an £11 saving!
Sean Aitken, Buying Manager Wine at Asda, says: ‘At Asda, we love any excuse to celebrate – an engagement, an extra day of the year or just a Saturday evening. By reducing our Mumm Champagne from £33 to £22, our customers don’t need to compromise on price, quality or value, no matter what they’re commemorating.’
Fizz fanatics who want to get their hands on a bottle (or two, we’re not here to judge…) will need to be quick as the deal will only be on from 27th Feb for a limited time.
While we’re often more than happy with a glass of prosecco for a taste of the fizzy stuff, extra special moments call for extra special tipples. Mumm Champagne offers notes of fresh peaches, apricots, lychee and pineapple along with the warming fragrance of vanilla, before notes of milky caramel and breadcrumbs hit for an overall aroma of dried fruit and honey.
We’re no connoisseurs and even we know that sounds just delicious and will go down a treat wherever – whether that’s celebrating with friends and loved ones of curling up on the sofa after a long week. In fact, we strongly advocate bubbles for any occasion.
