Asda has reduced their prosecco to £5 ahead of the royal wedding

It’s nearly time! The royal wedding is right around the corner, and to help us all celebrate the big day in style, Asda is selling bottles of prosecco for just £5.

The ever-so-reliable supermarket giant is launching the generous offer ahead of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s highly anticipated nuptials on Saturday 19 May, and will reduce the price of its popular Yellow Label Prosecco from £6 to £5. Dubbed the ‘Markle Sparkle’ in honour of the royal-to-be, the deal will run from Wednesday 16 May til Sunday 20 May. So if you’re hosting a royal party this weekend, you know where to stock up on the bubbly…

The Asda prosecco has been described as ‘delicious sparkler with zesty lemon, pear and apple fruit flavours,’ and has been recognised at international wine competitions in recent years. It even bagged the Silver prize at the 2017 Decanter Awards and Bronze at the International Wine Challenge last year. Talk about value for money!

The supermarket’s royal wedding promotion deal also includes its Extra Special Prosecco which will be reduced from £8.93 to £8 ahead of the event – but that’s not all, as the biggest savings will be made on Henri Cachet Champagne Brut which will be on offer for £12 instead of its usual price of £18.

The alcohol offers, along with special hampers and all of the Meghan and Harry-related snacks you’ve been spotting (and picking up, in our case) while doing your weekly food shops, are expected to boost booze sales for supermarkets across the country in the run up to the wedding. Asda has predicted the sale of over £4.8M worth of fizz in this week, while Lidl has also revealed a 35% increase in sparkling wine sales ahead of Saturday. And with offers like these, we have no doubt their bottles will be flying off the shelves.

Cheers to bargain bubbly!
