Everyone loves a bargain, but we think George at Asda may have just taken the crown with the steal of the season. It’s a multifunctional coat that can be worn seven different ways. That’s basically seven coats for the price of one – now that’s maths we like to do.
The coat in question is the Black Longline Padded Multi-functional Coat, which is part of the brand’s Rebalance collection launched with twin Olympic athletes Laviai and Lina Nielsen as the faces of the new AW21 collection.
On first glance, it looks to be a classic longline padded coat. But on closer inspection, you see that the bottom half, sleeves and hood are all detachable via hidden zips, thus giving you the option to customise your look. Wear it with all parts attached on frosty winter walks, but then come spring you can turn it into a lightweight cropped, padded gilet. We predict dog walkers in particular will love this multifunctional style.
In total, there are seven different combinations to create completely different looks depending on your needs – and the weather. One coat that can transverse every season, making it wearable 365 days of the year? Yes please. Oh, and did we mention it’s just £55? That’s like getting seven coats for less than £8 each. We’re sold.
Commenting on her involvement with the campaign, Laviai said: ‘I really loved the coat that you could wear in seven different ways! I could imagine using that coat for most occasions during the winter, whether it’s a training run, or a casual afternoon with friends.
The Rebalance collection is all about multifunctional pieces – there’s also a knitted jumper than can be worn back to front and another jumper that comes in two parts, allowing for three different ways to wear it.
The George multifunctional coat and the rest of the Rebalance collection is available to buy online and in Asda stores now.
