Every now and then, a piece comes along that dominates the entire internet fashion scene, appearing on endless influencer pages and popping up on screens around the globe.
The latest influencer-approved purchase? Anine Bing’s gorgeous Bar Silk Skirt, which has been selling out since it first arrived on site earlier this year.
LA-based designer Anine’s pieces are known for being both current and timeless, edgy and feminine, and the slinky, bias-cut skirt is no exception.
The garment hugs the body with a subtle mermaid silhouette and a midi-length, The label’s stylists suggest teaming it with casual tees and sweatshirts for a soft-meets-hard look, or teaming it with a co-ordinating silk camisole and statement jewellery if you want a dressier take.
Available in three shades – classic black, golden ‘popcorn‘ and rich, warm ‘toast‘ – the skirt has proved incredibly popular, with the black version selling out within days of launching, and the popcorn colour currently awaiting restock.
Part of its success can no doubt be attributed to famous online faces including Xenia Adonts, Lorna Luxe and Maja Wyh, all of whom have modelled the piece on their social media accounts.
‘This skirt has exceeded our expectations, so we’re encouraged to see how much more influencers can truly influence our sales trajectory,’ a buyer from the brand tells YOU.
‘This piece is so great because it’s wildly versatile for most women…’ Anine herself adds. ‘Whether you’re more ladylike and wear it with a silk cami, or want to pair it with a vintage rock tee and booties for an edgier look, this crosses into different stages of a person’s day and night.’
Hoping to get your hands on the skirt yourself? Head to the Anine Bing website sharpish, as certain stock is still available in the two lighter colourways. Sizes range from XS to L, all priced at €199, which is roughly £177.
Once it’s gone, however, it’s a case of waiting for the next drop with the rest of the fashion pack…
