If you’re someone who laughs at the phrase ‘summer tan’, spends most hot days hiding under a tree and knows your way round an SPF 50 aisle like it’s your own home then listen up – we have useful information when it comes to makeup for pale skin.
TV presenter Angela Scanlon, best known for fronting shows such as Your Home Made Perfect and The One Show, has been sharing her “pale girl skin” tips on Instagram, and with her gorgeous Irish complexion, we trust her on this one.
Crediting the expertise of her makeup artist Christine Lucignano, Angela said “Lots of people ask about the “pale girl skin”…here’s a list of some of the products used by @cloochy to keep from tipping into full Halloween”
These include a hydrating base in the form of Chanel Vitalumiere Foundation (£43) in the palest shade (10, Limpide), and Lisa Eldridge Elevated Glow Highlighter in Cosmic Rose (£27), a lovely rosy gold highlighter that delivers tightening and smoothing skincare benefits.
Angela also wears Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector (£21), the product that caused a mini stampede when Becca Cosmetics announced it would be closing up shop in the UK from September 2021. Luckily, we’ve still found it available to buy online.
Angela was keen to stress that she doesn’t try to darken her skin at all – “I don’t wear tan, I don’t do bronzer, I am see-through and proud!” she said in the post. However, she does add some colour with Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Petal (£44), an easy-to-apply cream blusher.
Another cult product she swears by is Hourglass Veil Loose Powder (£45), which is finely-milled with soft-focus light reflecting particles to instantly blur and veil the skin’s imperfections (not that we can see any on Angela’s ‘before makeup’ shot!)
The final step, says Angela, is Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer in 1CR (£27). This all-in-one product promises to hide undereye circles, localised redness, blemishes and imperfections without settling into fine lines.
Now can we just have all your hair tips too Angela?
