If you feel like you’ve exhausted every usual high-street avenue for your autumn wardrobe updates, take a leaf out of Andrea McLean’s book and turn to a new brand like Harpenne.
Launched back in September, the line is owned by the same company as River Island, but is a separate label aimed at a different customer, and it appears that Loose Women star Andrea is already a fan.

A great day today recording with @thekatethornton – talking about attitude. What it means to us as individuals… How it changes as we move through life… how it adapts to the lightness and the shade we all experience. Mine has definitely changed because of my life experiences, and the way I’ve reacted to the situations I’ve been in and the directions life has taken me. I think this is a good thing; we need to flow and adapt because nothing stays the same, and if we stay the same we become rigid and brittle. Having a good mental attitude changes the way you experience life – the situations you find yourself in may not be any easier, but the way you react to them will make them feel infinitely so. How has your attitude changed through the years? . . . . (PS thank you @harpenne for the gorgeous dress!)
On Instagram, she shared a picture of herself wearing the Khaki Camo Animal Shirt Dress from Harpenne’s A/W 19 collection, earning herself plenty of compliments from fans in the process.
‘Dress looks great on you ❤️👍’ wrote one, while another agreed: ‘Looking stunning @andreamclean1 lovely dress.’
With details like a chic handkerchief hem and blouson sheered sleeves, the shirt dress is a stylish staple that will take you anywhere from the office to after-work drinks to a weekend outing with ease.
And if you love it, there’s excellent news, because the online-only brand is currently running a discount code that will get you 25 per cent off its £99 price tag. Simply enter the code HARPENNE25 at the checkout to make your saving.
Explaining the ethos of the launch earlier this year, managing director Fiona Lambert explained: ‘Harpenne was created after noticing a huge gap in the market, we want to give the forgotten customer a voice.’
‘The pieces within the collection are inspired by culture and individuality. Aimed at women with attitude, Harpenne wants to revolutionise the retail offering so all women can embrace their sense of style and feel confident, no matter what their age.’
