Alex Jones has us all rushing to buy her £29.99 wide leg Zara jeans

You can map the history of the last century through jeans – from Levi Strauss’s 501s to the low-rise style of the noughties and everything in between – and we love when a new jeans shape comes into (or rather back into) style. And this season has seen the return of the wide-leg jean, which is most commonly associated with the 1970s, a decade that’s having a bit of a style renaissance right now.

So it’s only fitting that after decades of skinnies we cut our ties and give ourselves some much deserved, ahem, leg room. And it seems style queen Alex Jones got the jeans memo, as she sported a great pair of wide leg jeans while presenting The One Show earlier this week.

She posted a picture of her outfit to Instagram, with the caption: ‘Thanks for watching tonight. Thinking of you all especially if, like many of my friends and family are in full on lockdown again. @rylan definitely brightened up my Monday and it’s always nice to chat to @hairybikers who’s veggie recipes look delish. Thanks @jj.chalmers to for bringing some @bbcstrictly goss. Jumper tonight is @markuslupfer and jeans are @zara. Style guru as per @tesswrightstylist’.

As she said, Alex’s jeans are from Zara but, even better, they’re just £29.99. Alex paired her wide leg denim with a graphic Markus Lupfer jumper and white court shoes, proving that wide leg jeans can totally be dressed up or down, making them a versatile wardrobe staple.
