Aldi is launching velvet chairs that are half the price of designer brands

Ah Aldi, how do we love thee? Let us count the ways: not only does the budget German supermarket keep us stocked with endless beauty dupes and affordable, not to mention award-winning drinks, it’s also a dab hand when it comes to homeware too.

Take Aldi’s new velvet chairs, for example. Available in a choice of two colours – a rich charcoal grey and a sapphire blue – the premium-looking furniture is priced at just £59.99.

Comparable styles from big high-street names like Argos and Dunelm would set you back upwards of £130, making them a serious steal if you’re in the market for Art Deco style on a budget.

However, if you’re keen, you should know it’s only available online, so you’ll need to head to on Sunday, when it’ll be available to pre-order for home delivery. And you know the drill with SpecialBuys by now – the chairs are a limited run and once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Velvet Chair, £59.99, Aldi (from 17 November)

However, the chair’s launch is one of the first pieces that’s been unveiled from the upcoming White Collection range, which will arrive in stores on 24 November, and is also categorically not to be missed.

From luxe cashmere-esque throws to glassware that wouldn’t look out of place on the shelves in your local Oliver Bonas, the entire edit is super chic and surprisingly inexpensive.

Think £29.99 for a plump knitted pouffe, £8.99 for a chunky waffle cushion, and £14.99 for a champagne bowl that’ll make party season go off with a serious bang.

Aldi Bath shelf

Our personal favourite is the £19.99 wooden bath tray, which comes in either bamboo or pine and holds a candle, a book and a glass of wine. Head to your local from 24th November before everyone else does, and you might just be able to bag one in time for Christmas.
