Aldi’s storage trunks look just like Habitat’s but they’re half the price

No matter how big or small your home may be, one thing we could all do with more of is storage. And if you’re looking for a chic solution that won’t break the bank, we’d suggest making a beeline to your local Aldi for its new storage trunks.

The offering consists of not one but two choices of colourway; a neutral grey or cream exterior and metallic hardware in copper or gold, both of which imitate the vintage suitcase look we all know and love from interiors blogs and Instagram posts the world over.

In fact, the trunks bear a striking similarity to similar cases available from higher-end homeware store Habitat, where a set of two will set you back £85.

But ever the purse-friendly pal of shoppers on a budget, Aldi’s latest Kirkton House offering is priced at just £39.99.

‘Treat yourself to a durable yet stylish storage solution for your home with this Storage Trunk Set,’ the supermarkets says on the listing.

‘With gorgeous hardware in a stunning colour, you get a small and large trunk that can also be easily stored within each other when not in use. Ideal for storing blankets and trinkets alike, this set is the finishing touch your room is crying out for.’

The variety is sizing is handy – the smaller trunk comes in at 49 x 27 x 17cm while the larger size measures 57 x 35 x 20cm, making them exceptionally versatile for all manner of tasks. As Aldi points out, they’d be super handy for bedding and blankets, but would also be fab for storing pieces from your wardrobe that are no longer in season, or tucking away shoes and accessories you only wear occasionally.

While they’ve not yet officially been released, the Aldi storage trunks are available for pre-order online now, before being officially launched into physical stores on 11 October.

However, if experience with the world of Specialbuys has taught us anything, the best thing to do is move quickly, or risk missing out. And as ever, once they’re gone, they’re gone!
