By now, we’re all very familiar with Aldi’s penchant for ‘duping’ other much more expensive brands, be that within their food, beauty or homeware ranges – remember that £79.99 pink velvet scalloped chair that looks just like Oliver Bonas’ £395 version?
Well, it seems Aldi isn’t quite done with duping the popular homeware and gifting brand Oliver Bonas just yet, as we spied a collection of ceramic and metal plant pots on the Aldi website recently that look an awful lot like the exact aesthetic you find on the shelves of OB.
A collection of three plant pots on black metal stands, there’s two ceramic pots in stylish blue and mustard yellow hues and a third gold metal one. Each one would make an extremely stylish addition to any living space and a vibrant home for your green, leafy friends.
At just £8.99 each, the Aldi plant pots are a much more budget-friendly version of Oliver Bonas’ planters on stands, which are priced as high as £45 each.
In fact, we managed to find like for like dupes for each of the Aldi plant pots at Oliver Bonas. The Reactive Blue Pot & Stand (named as such for the reactive glaze used to achieve the two-tone effect) is very similar looking to OB’s Abuo Blue Ceramic Plant Pot & Stand Short, priced at £45.
The Gold Metal Pot & Stand from Aldi is a dead ringer for the Iggy Gold Metal Plant Pot Large from Oliver Bonas – at £39.50, Aldi’s is over £30 cheaper for essentially the same look.
Then there’s the Reactive Mustard Pot & Stand. While Oliver Bonas doesn’t have a mustard-toned ceramic planter on a metal stand, it does have the Suelo Mustard Yellow Ceramic Plant Pot Medium, the glazing of which is not dissimilar to that on Aldi’s yellow planter.
Finally, we spied a fourth £8.99 ceramic plant pot at Aldi in a pink and white colourway – and you’ve guessed it, Oliver Bonas also has something rather alike in looks, the £45 Abuo Pink & Grey Ceramic Plant Pot & Stand Short.
