Aldi is selling champagne for just £9.99 this New Year’s Eve

Planning to ring in the new decade with a glass or two of the good stuff? Hotfoot it down to your local Aldi, where bottles of champagne have been reduced to just £9.99.

The price of the store’s Nicolas De Montbart Champagne, which normally retails for £10.99, has been dropped to less than a tenner in honour of the arrival of 2020, and if you’re a fan of fizz, it’d be rude not to stock up before the deal comes to an end.

Aldi describes the bottle of bubbles as ‘an elegant and easy drinking aperitif style champagne with fruit and floral notes.’

‘This traditional blend of equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier gives a subtle elegance on the palate,’ the retailer adds. Sounds like it would go down very well at any NYE party, if you ask us.

Plus, customers who’ve already tried the tipple have left rave reviews about it on the Aldi website, with many claiming it’s much better than more expensive blends that they’ve tasted.

‘Best champers I’ve tasted and I’ve had a few,’ admitted one. ‘Amazing value and [much] better than some six times the prize. Well done Aldi.’

‘This was a surprising success. Make sure it is serve nicely chilled and it is delicious!’ exclaimed another, while a third wrote that it was a ‘terrific value fizz which can outperform a lot of well-known brands at three times the price of this gem.’
