We do love Jo Malone’s heavenly scented products, but when we’re looking for a bargain, we also love Aldi’s dupes of Jo Malone’s candles and reed diffusers. But did you know Aldi has also created dupes of Jo Malone hand wash, too?
Pomegranate Noir and Lime Basil & Mandarin are two of Jo Malone’s most popular scents – mainly because they smell utterly divine. And now those clever people at Aldi have taken inspiration from the luxury brand again and developed two hand and body washes in very similar scents – but for a fraction of the price at £2.49 each compared to Jo Malone’s heftier price tag of £32 for the exact same amount (250ml).
The design of the bottles certainly echoes that of Jo Malone’s, with a subtle frosted design on a rectangular bottle with a simple black and off-white label.
As for what’s inside the bottle, one reviewer said of the Pomegranate version of the Aldi Jo Malone hand wash dupe: ‘The texture of this is light and easy to lather. It smells amazing and is very luxurious. It gives such a heavenly showering experience. I definitely recommend.’
Another wrote: ‘Smells incredible! Just like a leading, expensive brand!’ Another other commented: ‘Love this hand wash. Great fragrance and classic packaging. JM should be worried!’
Meanwhile, reviewers of the Lime, Basil and Mandarin scent have said: ‘Smells just as good as the Jo Malone variety although this doesn’t last as long through the day. At that price it’s a small sacrifice to make.’
Another shopper said: ‘I’ve always spent alot of money on hand washes. However this is by far the best I’ve bought for 10yrs plus. I only use it as a hand wash though. It smells beautiful and leaves hands feeling refreshed.’
While Jo Malone’s products are certainly the premium choice of the two brands, if you’re looking for a little luxury on a budget, the Aldi Jo Malone hand wash dupes certainly fit the bill. And at just £2.49 each, you can afford to indulge in both scents rather than pick your favourite.
This is not the first time the supermarket has duped a luxury soap brand – Aldi has previously done its own version of Molton Brown’s iconic Rhubarb & Rose Bath & Shower Gel, as well as cheaper versions of Molton Brown’s festive-scented hand wash for Christmas last year.
