Since many of us have a lot more free time on our hands these days while we endure the coronavirus lockdown, crafting has seen a boom in popularity as we look to utilise our newfound free time in fun and productive ways.
But whether you’re a seasoned crafter looking to brush up on your skills or a complete novice wanting to pick up a new hobby, you’re going to need the supplies to do so. Luckily, Aldi have pulled through with their new Hobby and Craft range to make all your crafty dreams come true, from knitting and crocheting to scrapbooking and needlework.
Part of Aldi’s infamous Specialbuys range, the crafting kits will be available to pre-order online from Sunday 12 April and in stores from 16 April, but we advise ordering online if you can to avoid unnecessary trips to the shops – and to make sure you don’t miss out, as we all know Aldi’s Specialbuys don’t hang around for long!
There’s a range of Adult Soft Craft Kits, all priced at £5.99, which includes a kit to create your very own beautiful macrame wall hanging (so on-trend if Instagram is anything to go by) as well as crochet, knitting, punch needle and weaving kits, too. All the kits come with step by step instructions, which make it oh-so easy for even a compete beginner to muddle through on their own, as well as all the necessary tools and equipment so you can get started with your crafty creating straight away.
You’ll also find £3.99 knitting and crochet kits in the range and you can chose from a range of projects to compete, including a cactus, llama, crab, donkey, kangaroo or a koala – or why not order them all and create a whole menagerie of knitted friends? No crochet or knitting experience? No problem, as each kit comes complete with a crochet hook, yarn, darning needle, stuffing and full instructions.
If scrapbooking is more your thing, Aldi’s Hobby & Craft range also includes hardback scrapbooks, trimmers, paper edgers, embellishments and XL permanent markers – with prices starting at 99p, there’s everything you could need to complete a beautiful and creative scrapbook of memories.
Any sewing fans out there will be happy to hear that Aldi is also releasing more fat quarter bundles in brilliant, eye-catching patterns, including a paisley, ikat and English garden design.
Retailing at £7.98, they’re perfect for completing larger scale fabric projects such as bunting, pillows or cushions. There’s even needlework starter kits for £4.99 that come complete with embroidery hoops, needles, threads, fabric and instructions to create myriad designs.
