One of the most sought after garden items of the summer has got to be a rattan hanging egg chair. Chic, stylish and super comfortable, Aldi’s £149.99 version sold out almost instantly when the budget supermarket brought back the chair last month for the second year in a row.
So in a bid to satiate the nation’s seemingly burning desire for a swinging egg chair in every British garden, Aldi is set to release a supersized version of the hanging egg chair. For £199.99, the Large Hanging Egg Chair will be big enough to accommodate two people, meaning no more fighting for first dibs on the best seat in the garden.
The new supersized design will be available for pre-ordering from this Sunday 21 June as an online-only exclusive – considering how quickly the first Aldi egg chair sold out, we suggest setting a reminder (or several) for first thing this Sunday if you want to be in with a change of nabbing one for your garden this summer.
The orginal hanging egg chair came hot on the heels of the release of Aldi’s latest alfresco dining range – it seems the budget supermarket is committed to transforming your garden from humble patch of grass to chic outdoor living area you’ll want to spend the entire summer in (and just as well, as it appears we’ll be spending a lot of time there this year).
Bringing you the best seat in the house, Aldi’s £149.99 hanging egg chair is as comfortable as it is stylish – a statement piece of furniture that also provides the perfect reading nook to curl up in on lazy afternoons. The natural rattan design makes Aldi’s version of the iconic suspending chair extremely similar to those favoured by house-proud celebs such as Reese Witherspoon, Mrs Hinch and Stacey Solomon.
While its large size perfectly lends itself to living in the garden, the swinging chair would look just as good indoors, granted you have the space for it! Pop it in the corner of any room in the house to create a quiet, tranquil space to get away from it all. The natural tones and textures will fit in with any interior design style, but would add a lovely bohemian edge to more structured spaces, the perfect way to soften a room (or hide any unsightly cables or debris – inside or outside!).

Al fresco sleeping 😴 Went outside to cool down, it got super hot indoors, hot and sweaty baby = meltdown. So we sat in the chair at the end of the garden swinging and daydreaming. The sun was so pretty I thought I’d take a picture only to realise Rex was fast asleep and It was only 5:30pm People always ask me what my routine is and the truth is, I HAVE NO ROUTINE WHAT SO EVER, I don’t know how people manage to get into one 😂 All I do know is no matter how late I try to keep him up, or how much I try to feed him, faster flow teats and staying awake only makes the nighttime’s worse. The best thing I’ve found is to go entirely on what Rex wants/needs. Sometimes he sleeps really well sometimes he doesn’t. Sometimes I love waking up, sometimes it’s a struggle to say the least 😂 There is no magic formula. Just going with it. And reminding myself that I’ll miss waking for him when he sleeps through… 🖤 P.S there is a filter on this phot because the sun was sooo red! 🖤
The new large hanging egg chair will be exclusively available online and ready for pre-order from Sunday 21 June. If last month’s sell-out success is anything to go by, we’d suggest moving fast if you don’t want to miss out.
Lat year, the 2019 version of the Specialbuy gained nearly 100 five-star reviews, attracting comments such as: ‘My only regret is not purchasing two chairs – I considered doing this but was persuaded by my husband that one was enough, once the chair arrived he changed his mind but chairs were sold out!’
