Perfume is one of life’s little luxuries that we all love to indulge in – after all, smell is a extremely powerful and evocative sense. But the eye-watering price tags that accompany the bottles of well-known perfume brands are not so desired, and sometimes we just want to freely spritz ourselves without wondering how much each spray is worth.
Luckily, those clever people at Aldi love to treat us to purse-friendly versions that are reminiscent of the more expensive labels, and that doesn’t just stop at food. Their Health & Beauty department is heaving with bargain buys that are close dupes of some of the biggest names in the industry – many people know and love the budget supermarket’s line of candles and reed diffusers that appear (and smell) like close cousins of Jo Malone’s luxury products.
But did you know there’s also a pretty close dupe of a Jo Malone perfume lurking in the aisles of Aldi? Named No.33 Fierce Bellflower Eau de Toilette, it’s a supremely floral scent that comes in luxe-looking mauve and gold packaging. The scent is described as ‘a sweetness of dewy bluebell entwined with rich hyacinth and the delicate notes of jasmine’ and reviewers have compared it to Jo Malone’s Wild Bluebell fragrance.
‘This is a fantastic perfume, smells just like Jo Malone Wild Bluebell but for a fraction of the price,’ noted one happy customer, while another confessed: ‘Didn’t have high expectations when I bought this but I was very pleasantly surprised! Soft, delicate, fresh floral notes perfect for spring and very feminine. Not too strong so nice to liberally spritz it on!’
With musk, cedarwood and amber base notes, bluebell, jasmine and honey middle notes and fresh, green leafy top notes, many have described the perfume as being perfect for spring and summer, thanks to its light, fresh and floral scent.
