We don’t know about you, but we’re always looking for our next opportunity to eat chocolate – so once Valentine’s Day is over, our thoughts immediately turn to Easter. Luckily, Aldi is on the same page, as the supermarket has already revealed its selection of Easter eggs for 2020.
The first thing to catch our eye was the use of the words ‘gin’ and ‘prosecco’ (naturally) – yes, Aldi is branching out into the world of booze-infused eggs this year. You can take your pick from gin and white chocolate or raspberry and prosecco flavoured milk chocolate, each with a chic geometric pattern and priced at just £4.99.

If you’re of the mindset that size matters, however, you’ll want to turn your attention to the Moser Roth Giant Ostrich Egg and Moser Roth Giant Dragon Egg, both of which weigh a rather staggering 800g – that’s almost a kilo of chocolately goodness to work your way through over the long weekend.
In previous years, the caramel-flavoured ostrich egg has sold out in a matter of days, and even ended up on eBay for double its £14.99 price tag, so you’ll want to mark your calendar for 15 March when the mega eggs are set to arrive in store to beat other bargain hunters to it.

Continuing on with its sophisticated theme, Aldi has also introduced two eggs with intricate hand-decorated detailing. The pretty garden egg is adorned with botanical imagery, but the serious wow-factor comes from the double-whammy of the Specially Selected butterfly egg.
Made with Fairtrade cocoa, the outer shell and 3D butterflies are crafted from milk chocolate with an open front and a Belgian blonde chocolate egg nestled inside; definitely the one to pick if you need an Easter gift that’ll really impress.

Basically, it’s a stellar year for anyone with a sweet tooth thanks to the budget retailer’s offering. Our apologies in advance to the Easter bunny, because our wish list is now very long indeed.
