Aldi has launched dough balls that are 30% cheaper than Pizza Express

There are so many reasons why a trip to Aldi – in store or online – can feel like a real treat. Firstly, there’s the infamous bargain Specialbuys, where you can find anything from stylish and seasonal homeware to amazingly similar beauty dupes of the most in-demand brands. Then, there’s the food. Not only does Aldi deliver on value for money, but the budget store also frequently showcases exciting new products.

Earlier this week, we were spoilt with a first look at the Aldi Christmas hampers for 2021, which are over 50 per cent cheaper than Fortnum & Mason. But if you can’t hang around until Christmas to try something new, fear not.

Aldi has launched new dough balls from the Carlos brand it stocks that are more than 30 per cent cheaper than Pizza Express. The family-friendly restaurant chain has become well known for its warm and soft dough balls and delicious garlic butter dip. But now, thanks to Aldi, you can achieve a similar style of meal at home.

Aldi dough balls

The Carlos Takeaway Dough Balls with Garlic Butter Dip cost just £1.35 for an 180g pack. In comparison, the 200g packet of Pizza Express dough balls cost £3 and can be bought from various supermarkets.

Carlos Takeaway’s dough balls are ready to eat in just six minutes, so you don’t have to wait long to tuck into these satisfying balls of carby goodness. Just what we like to hear!

The dough balls are handmade in the UK and are available in Aldi stores now.

If you want to make a meal of it, shoppers can also pick up the Carlos Takeaway pizzas – the toppings include a Fully Loaded Meat Feast Pizza for £3.29. There’s also a Mini Garlic Pizza Bread that costs £1.09, so you can enjoy a proper ‘fakeaway’ feast.
