If you’re anything like us, you love an Aldi bargain. Whether it’s one of the budget supermarket’s many, many beauty dupes, the brand’s bi-weekly turnover of Specialbuys or the huge online Garden Shop that was launched especially for summer this year, there’s always something we just have to have from Aldi.
Despite the budget prices, we certainly wouldn’t say no to some Aldi vouchers – more specifically, £1,000 worth of Aldi vouchers – so our ears certainly pricked up when we heard about their latest competition.
Dubbed ‘Aldi-Fresco’, Aldi is on a nationwide hunt for the most impressive garden and outdoor area upgrades. Research shows that 32 million Brits have revamped – or plan to revamp – their garden or outside space this year. With coronavirus still a threat, outside socialising continues to be the safest way to get together with friends and family, so it’s no surprise that we’re all wanting to breath some new life into our outdoor areas, whether that’s investing in garden furniture, kitting yourself out with a pro-worthy BBQ set up, building a DIY garden bar or just investing in a few colourful garden accessories.
Judging the Aldi competition is Shelley and Ashley Sargeant, the Doncaster couple who received thousands of comments and likes on Facebook after posting pictures of their back garden which they transformed into a stunning space using just discarded timber pallets.
Shelley said: ‘Our back garden was lacking some lustre so we decided on a re-fresh. Fortunately, we are quite resourceful, so managed to upscale our entire area using just pallets! Now it’s the perfect spot for outdoor get-togethers and BBQs with family and friends – they absolutely love it.
‘The positive response to the revamp has been overwhelming. We were delighted that Aldi asked us to be part of their Aldi-Fresco competition and can’t wait to see the entries. We’ll be judging based on creativity, resourcefulness, and style. Best of luck to everyone.’
To enter the Aldi competition and be in with a chance of winning £1,000 of shopping vouchers for the store, all you need to do is visit Aldi’s Facebook page or Twitter and share a picture of your renovated garden or outside space using the hashtag #RaisingTheBarbeque – you have until 23 June to enter. Good luck!
