Aldi’s £4.99 body cream is a complete dupe of the £52 Jo Malone product

Our money saving hero Aldi have a real knack of creating products that smell near-identical to those of the luxury brand, Jo Malone, and for a fraction of the price.

Alongside their dupe candles that fly off the shelves as soon as they are restocked, the budget supermarket have now launched a range of body creams that in a blind test would almost definitely be mistaken for Jo Malone’s creams.

The big difference? Aldi’s 175ml pot retails for £4.99 while Jo Malone’s retails for £52.

Seriously, we’re not kidding.

Packaged in the instantly-recognisable black and cream glass jars, Aldi have created creams in the scents of Lime, which smells like Jo Malone’s best-selling Lime, Basil and Mandarin fragrance, Pomegranate, similar to the popular Pomegranate Noir, and Freesia and Pear, which smells almost identical to English Pear and Freesia.

On the company’s website, it says that the Pomegranate body cream is ‘designed to leave a luxurious feel on your skin’, while the Freesia and Pear ‘nourishes skin [and absorbs] in seconds’ and the Lime will leave ‘the skin soft’.

You can buy them as single pots, two for £9.98 or a set of three for £14.97. The latter would definitely go down well as a lovely gift.

Aldi is a German supermarket that in recent years has had huge success in the UK due to products that rival expensive versions. This year, the company’s £9.99 gin was named as one of the best in the world for the second year in a row by the acclaimed International Spirits Challenge and it’s £280 hot tub completely sold out back in March.

The major takeaway when shopping there? If you want something, act quick.

You can buy the new body creams online and in stores from today, Thursday July 5.

We’ll see you in the queue…
