Adele is usually notoriously quiet on social media, but recently the singer has recently started sharing more snaps on Instagram, with her latest post revealing the cover of a book that she claims ‘will shake your brain and make your soul scream.’
The book is The New York Times bestselling memoir Untamed: Stop Pleasing, Start Living by American blogger turned motivational speaker and author Glennon Doyle. Glennon has struggled with anxiety, depression and bulimia in the past, as well as an unfaithful husband, until one day when she ‘decided to let go of the world’s expectations of her and and reclaim her true untamed self’.
Adele credits the tome with helping her to discover ‘that I am responsible for my own joy, happiness and freedom’ and that she feels ‘so ready for myself after reading this book’.
It’s a book that authors Elizabeth Gilbert described as ‘phenomenal’ and Brené Brown said of it: ‘Some books shake you by the shoulders, while others steal your heart. Untamed does both at the exact same time.’ Sounds pretty life changing.
In her Instagram post to her 38.5 million followers, Adele wrote: ‘If you’re ready – this book will shake your brain and make your soul scream. I am so ready for myself after reading this book! It’s as if I just flew into my body for the very first time. Whew!
‘Anyone who has any kind of capacity to truly let go and give into yourself with any kind of desire to hold on for dear life – Do it. Read it. Live it. Practice it. We are a lot! But we are meant to be a lot! .. “A good life is a hard life!”
‘Read this book and have a highlighter on hand to make notes because you’ll want to refer back to it trust me! I never knew that I am solely responsible for my own joy, happiness and freedom!! Who knew our own liberation liberates those around us? Cause I didn’t!! I thought we were meant to be stressed and disheveled, confused and selfless like a Disney character! ProBloodyFound!! You’re an absolute don Glennon ♥️’.
Well, it’s clearly got the thumbs up from Adele, in which case it’s going straight onto our Amazon Wishlist.
