The £26 eyeliner behind Adele’s amazing Vogue cover look

Has there ever been a comeback as iconic as Adele’s recent return to the limelight? From her new music – powerful single Easy On Me debuted at number one – to a series of stunning Vogue covers across the UK and US, Adele is the name on everyone’s lips right now. In fact, even her eyeliner has caused a sensation, thanks to the cat eye look she showcased on the aforementioned Vogue covers.

Google searches for how to create Adele’s cat-eye look have jumped 9,900% since her British Vogue cover was revealed, according to beauty e-tailer Just My Look. In the photos, Adele exudes old-school Hollywood glamour with a make-up look that features strong brows, a perfectly-sculpted pout and major winged eyeliner.

It’s no wonder we’re all clamouring to recreate those signature flicks, and luckily legendary make-up artist Pat McGrath, who created Adele’s beauty look for the shoot, has revealed exactly which products she used.

Unsurprisingly, McGrath armed herself with an eyeliner from her own range for the shoot, and it looks super-easy to apply, especially if you don’t have the patience to fiddle around with brushes. The Perma Precision Liquid Eyeliner, £26, comes in a handy pen form, so you can sketch out the shape of a flick (using a damp cotton bud to remove any mistakes) before filling it in.

Other products McGrath used to create Adele’s cat eye look include her FetishEyes mascara, £26, and the gorgeous Mothership II Sublime Eyeshadow Palette, £115, which has gone straight to the top of our beauty wish list.

Although Pat McGrath created Adele’s sensational Vogue cover look, it’s perhaps the singer’s make-up artist Michael Ashton, who she’s has worked with for many years, who deserves the most credit for creating her signature beauty look. Luckily for us, he’s recorded a tutorial for Lisa Eldridge’s YouTube channel on how to copy those fabulous flicks.

Now we’ve got the make-up covered, all we need is for Adele’s new album 30 to drop – but you’ll have to wait until 19 November for that!
