When the summer nights are long and the weather is warm, there’s nothing quite like a cocktail or two – particularly if you’re talking al fresco.
New Notting Hill opening The Italian Job, which follows sites in Chiswick and Borough, is bringing a slice of la dolce vita to W4 with its focus on Italian drinking.
In the cosy pub area downstairs – all royal blue walls and floor to ceiling windows – you’ll find a focus on Italian craft beers (including those from the Ducato microbrewery) and an expansive menu that includes street food like arancini and mouth-watering burgers. Upstairs, meanwhile, is home to a decadent cocktail den, where mixologist Luca Corradini (of Oriole and The Savoy’s American Bar) has carefully curated a menu that draws on classic Italian spirits – think Campari, Martini and Amaro.

50ml Plantation 3 Stars White Rum
30ml lime juice
15ml Mirto liqueur
10 ml Amaro Montenegro
Simple sugar syrup to balance.
Shake and pour into a stemmed glass, garnish with dry fruits.
