There really is nothing quite like a summer romance (just look at the couples on Love Island). Sun, sea and new adventures seem to be the recipe for love and this summer, Brits are after their very own slice of the action.
If you’re among those looking for someone to walk off into the sunset with, then you’re in luck because popular dating app, Happn, has just revealed the top nine destinations where you’re most likely to find love.
The app, which helps people reconnect with potential love interests they’ve crossed paths with while out and about, has released a list of holiday destinations where tourists are most likely to find a summer romance.
Not to our surprise, the top four places are all coastal regions along the Mediterranean, with Barcelona coming out as number one. Nice was placed at number two, while party Island Ibiza followed closely at number three, proving once again that Spain is the country for love. Turkish capital Istanbul wasn’t far behind at number four.
However, it turns out the airport you travel from can be just as important as your end destination when it comes to securing your summer romance. According to Happn, you should send less time sleeping and more time mingling when you’re at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam and London’s Heathrow. Yes, it may be one of the busiest airports in the world but that only means it’s all the more likely for you to find your perfect match while waiting for your flight.
Another notable finding by the app shows that famous landmarks are also a prime spot for swiping. Particularly Obelisk of Buenos Aires in Argentina, Buckingham Palace in London and last but certainly not least, the Eiffel Tower in Paris. All three sound like the ultimate setting for a beautiful love story, so sign us up!
